© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1960 Paul J. Summers Sr P. J. Summers Funeral Is Held At Local Chapel Services for Paul J. Summers, father of Paul Summers, Carnegie, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Pitcher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.B. Shinn, Baptist pastor officiating. Interment was in the Carnegie cemetery. Summers, 74 years of age, died Friday at the Clinton sanitarium after being in ill health for a number of years. He had been at the sanitarium for the past two years. A native of West Virginia, Summers spent the majority of his life in St. Louis. He was one of the founders of the School of the Ozarks in Missouri, a school for underprivileged children. He came to Carnegie to make his home about eight years ago. He is survived by one son, Paul, and a granddaughter, Mary Ann Summers, Carnegie; three sisters in California and one brother in Kansas. |
