Strickland Service Held Funeral services for Harmon Riley Strickland, 86, longtime Carnegie area resident, were held at 10:30 a.m. last Friday at the Church of the Nazarene with rev. Bob Williams, officiating. Riley died Tuesday at a Hobart hospital. He was born May 13, 1889. He moved to Britton from Iowa in 1901 and to a home south of Carnegie in 1904. He married the former Carrie M. VanCleve January 6, 1909. Strickland was a farmer and rancher. Upon his retirement in 1962, they moved to Carnegie. Survivors include his widow of the home; five sons, Ernest and Omar, both of Turlock, Calif., Thine of Carmel, Calif., Clayton of Seneca, Mo., and Kennard of Salinas, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Audrey Tully of Carnegie, Mrs. Clarence Draper of Norman, Mrs. Dawn Tully of Anadarko and Mrs. Avadell Sexton of Lawton; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Young of Lawton and Mrs. Mary Mock of Kelly Lake, Calif.; 32 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. |
