© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, July 17, 1974 Monroe Jackson Smith Sr Smith Rites Held Here Smith died June 29 at his home in Phoenix. Monroe Smith was born, September 27, 1909 in Wynnewood. He had resided in the Carnegie community for several years. Survivors include five daughters, Irene Kilpatrick of Las Vegas, Neva., Billie Parker, Elk City, Joyce Thompson, Stroud, Ruby Black, Big Lake, Texas, and Judy Gilmore of Canute; three sons, Monroe Smith, Jr., of Pensacola, Fla., Kenneth Smith and Tommy Smith of Canute; 22 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Charlie Smith of Amarillo, and two sisters, Jewel Folley of Van Buren, Ark., and Vera Cummings of Antlers. Funeral services for Monroe Jackson Smith, 64, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Carnegie, were held Saturday, July 13, at the local Nazarene Church with Rev. Bob Williams, pastor, officiating. |
