Hollis Service Held Saturday For W.A. Fulks

Graveside rites for W.A. Fulks,83, were held at the Carnegie cemetery at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services had been held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning at Coley Memorial Chapel in Hollis.

Fulks, resident of Hollis the past 12 years, died Thursday, April 23, in a Hollis hospital where he had spent many weeks since having pneumonia last fall. He had re-entered the hospital about two weeks ago.

He was born April 25, 1880, in Stone county, Ark. He grew to manhood at Pleasant Grove, Ark., and moved to Oklahoma 42 years ago. He was married to Ethel Killin April 10, 1912. Nine children were born to them. Three preceded him in death.

He is survived by his widow, Ethel of the home at 214 West Second, Carnegie; six children, Hubert Fulks, Hollis, Mrs. Charley Pettit, Carnegie, Julius and Neal Fulks, Frionia, Texas, Mrs. Floyd Gault, Eloy, Ariz., and Mrs. Paul Rehder, Redlands, Calif.; 26 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services For Mrs. Fulks Will Be Thursday

Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Fulks, 86, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist church with Rev. Bill Dickover, pastor, officiating. He will be assisted by Dr. Richard Yaple, First Christian church pastor. Burial will be in the Carnegie cemetery with the Pitcher Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Fulks died Tuesday morning in the Carnegie hospital where she had been a patient since July 20. She had been in ill health for a long time.

Ethel Mae Killian was born January 8, 1881, at Mountain View, Arkansas, to Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Killian. She was married to Walter Fulks on April 10, 1912. They moved to Clinton, Okla., 49 years ago, later moving to Hollis. She had been a resident of Carnegie for several years. Nine children were born to them, four preceding her in death. She also was preceded in death by her husband on April 23, 1964.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Charley Pettit, Carnegie, Mrs. Floyd Gault of Eloy, Ariz., and Mrs. Raul Rehder of Redlands, Calif.; two sons, Hubert Fulks of Hollis, and Julius Fulks of Friona, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Gamill of Dallas and Mrs. Rose Decker of Filmore, Calif.; 26 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
