Glen Charles Francis
October 2, 1913 ~ September 11, 1964


Funeral services for Glen Francis were held Sunday afternoon at the First Baptist Church with Rev. James Weston, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery.

He was born near Carnegie October 2, 1913 to Charles Monroe and Annie Lee Johnson Francis and died Friday morning September 11, 1964 at the Carnegie hospital after being ill for sometime. He had surgery earlier at the Veterans hospital in Oklahoma City. He returned home August 18, and remained at home until Wednesday before his death..

Glen was a well-known Carnegie plumber and retired fireman. He had spent most of his life here, except the two years he spent in the Navy during World War II..

He was married to Lettie Mae Warthen on October 2, 1934. The made their home on a farm northeast of Carnegie until moving into Carnegie in 1935. Two sons were born to them..

Glen was an employee of the Carnegie Elevator Company now known as the Kimball Milling Company, and also delivered freight here. After his discharge from the Navy in 1946, he took up plumbing as his profession..

He had been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1948. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John Franklin Francis of Ames, Oklahoma..

Surviving are his wife of the home, just east of town; two sons, Bob J. of Del City and Charles Leon of Salt Lake City; one grandson, Ricky Francis of Del City; two granddaughters, Darla Francis, Del City and Paige Francis, Salt Lake City; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Emma Worthen of the home; one brother, Bill of Oklahoma City; five sisters, Daisy Waller, Union City, Molly Barbee, Pixley, Calif, Myrtle Teague, Visalia, Calif., Edna Barbee, Tulsa and Laura Warthen, Shawnee and other relatives.

Lettie Mae [Warthen] Francis
October 16, 1918 ~ June 1, 1987


Funeral services for Lettie Mae Francis, 68, of Carnegie were held Wednesday, June 3, 1987 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Carnegie. Burial was in the Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home.

Mae was born October 16, 1918 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Joseph and Emma Lewis Warthen and passed away Monday, June 1, 1987, at USPHS Indian Hospital, Lawton.

She married Glen Charles Francis on October 29, 1934 in Anadarko.

She was a housewife, mother and a member of The First Baptist Church. She had been a bookkeeper for several firms in Carnegie.

She was preceded in death by her husband Glen Francis; one brother, Pat Warthen, and one half-brother, Bill Shubert.

Survivors include their two sons, Bob Francis, Oklahoma City and Leon Francis, Salt Lake City, Utah; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Riley Warthen, Oklahoma City and George Warthen, Shawnee.

Bob J. Francis
August 10, 1935 ~ July 19, 2010


Bob J. Francis, age 74, of OKC, passed away on July 19, 2010. He was born August 10, 1935 in Carnegie, OK to Glen C. and Mae "Warthen" Francis.

Bob was a Realtor with Bob Linn and Associates.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leon; 2 grandsons, Bradley Swarts and Mark Fuller.

He is survived by daughter, Darla and husband John Holinsworth of OKC; son, Rick Francis and wife Zoe of CA; wife of 25 years, Jane Droze; step-daughter Becky Drake; 7 grandchildren and 1 greatgrandchild.

Services to celebrate his life will be 4:00 pm, Wednesday, July 21, at Buchanan Funeral Service Chapel.

Graveside services for Charles Leon Francis, 50, of Spokane, Washington were held February 21, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carnegie Cemetery.

Charles was born January 26, 1937 to Glen Charles and Mae Warthen Francis, long time Carnegie residents, and died February 15, 1997 in Spokane, Washington.

He was a graduate of Carnegie High School and Southwestern State University School of Pharmacy.

He is survived by one daughter, Paige Reilly of Meriden, Connecticut; one son, Glen Francis of Salt Lack City, Utah; two step-children, Michelle DeWitt and Jeff Morris; three grandchildren all of Salt Lake City; one brother, Bob Francis of Oklahoma City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
