Funeral Services For A.L. Birch Are Held Sunday

Funeral services for A.L. Birch were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Church of the Nazarene, with rev. Bob Williams, pastor, in charge, and Rev. Raymond Hutchinson, pastor of the Assembly of God church, assisting. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery. Mr. Birch was in his usual good health last Wednesday evening when he suffered a heart attack and died about 9 p.m. at his home.

He had lived in and near Carnegie for a number of years. He was born August 11, 1880, in Coral county, Texas.

Survivors include the wife of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Haas, Fort Cobb, and Mrs. Martha McDonald of Madera, Calif.; four sons, Oscar of Arbon, Calif., Freddie and W.B. of Lubbock, and Ernest of Cottage Grove, Oregon; three brothers H.O. Birch of Elmer, Okla., James of Mineral Wells and Jesse of Lubbock; two sisters, Mrs. Mandie Wilcox of Vernon, Tex., and Mrs. Mary Snow of Abilene, and 16 grandchildren.

Maggie Burns Burch

Funeral Services Held Saturday For Mrs. Maggie Burch

Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Burch were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Bob Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery with Pitcher Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Burch died Tuesday, August 22, at the Hobart hospital after a lengthy illness. She had fallen several weeks ago and broken a hip.

She was born February 25, 1889, at Van Buren, Ark. In 1908 she was married to Eliga Burch at Quanah, Texas. Ten children were born to them. She was preceded in death by her husband on August 22, 1957 and by two sons, Walter and Freddie and by one daughter, Mary.

She is survived by four sons, Oscar of Carnegie, Bill of Madera, Calif., Lee of Fort Supply, and Earnest of Marysville, Calif.; three daughters, Martha Easley of Eakly, Bertha Camp of Fort Supply, and Marie Haas of Carnegie; 25 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, several Nieces and nephews.
