1912 ~ 2004


Funeral services for Genetia Patterson Bryant, 91, of Carnegie were held Friday, February 13, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist church in Carnegie with Rev. Arthur Blount officiating.

Genetia was born September 8, 1912 in Fort Cobb to John Ollie and Hannah [Whitworth] Patterson and died Monday, February 9, 2004 at the Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital.

She married Ernest Bryant of September 6, 1933. She resided in the Carnegie area most of her life.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna "Ernestine" and husband, Dr. James Hill of Oklahoma City; one son, Dwayne Bryant and wife, Carolyn of Carnegie; 10 grandchildren, Phyllis and Bobby Watson, Doug and Jan Hall all of Anadarko; Scherry and pat Swanda, James Hill of Siloman Springs, Arkansas; Schelly Hill of Purcell; Rusty Johnson of Cooperton, Regina rouse of Chickasha, Deanna and Keith McRae of Carnegie, Renee and Mike Sanders of Enid and Todd Bryant of Carnegie; 19 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; brother, Bill and Joan Patterson of Hinton; niece, Diann Smith of Hinton; nephew, Ricky Patterson of Altus and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Voncille Hall and Anita (Bootie) Rutledge; one grandson, Rick Hill; one brother, J.D. Patterson and one sister, Ilamac Patterson.

Burial was in the Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of the Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home in Carnegie.
