Rites Held For Crash Victim

Funeral services for Billy James Bryan, 40, of Oklahoma City were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10, in the Chapel of Vondel L. Smith Mortuary, Oklahoma City. Bryan was killed in a plane crash near Norman on Wednesday, April 7.

Interment was in the Carnegie cemetery.

Billy James Bryan, born August 8, 1931 at Marshall, graduated from the Carnegie high school and was a veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist church, northwest of Carnegie.

He was a Real Property officer for the health, Education and Welfare Department, a real estate broker and an aircraft salesman.

Bryan was killed along with another pilot, Kenneth Gardner of Fort Worth, when their light plane crashed April 7 near Norman. Services for Gardner were held last Wednesday. Bryan was the son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Newlon Coulter of Mountain View.

He is survived by his wife, June, and daughter, Gayla, both of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Bryan of Marshall, Ark.; one brother, Hershel of Marshall, Ark.; and a sister, Dorthea Hoover of Sacramento, Calif.
