Services Here For Alzena Brotherton

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Sunday afternoon for Alzena Mae Brotherton, 14-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Brotherton of Anadarko. Rev. J.T. Howard, pastor of the Baptist church conducted the services and burial was made in the Carnegie cemetery.

Alzena Mae Brotherton was born at Carnegie, Okla. Feb. 13, 1924, died Feb. 3, 1939, aged 14 years, 11 months and 20 days. Zena lived in and near Carnegie with her parents for many years.

She was in poor health a number of years, suffering a bone disease which her parents believe was the result of a fall on an icy road as she walked to meet the school bus one morning. She was in Oklahoma University hospital where she underwent the amputation of a lower limb in effort to save her life.

Alzena was converted at the Baptist church and was a candidate for baptism but her health would not permit. She was an only child. She is survived by her parents and other relatives
