W.B. Boyer Dies Here Following Long Illness

W.B. Boyer died at his home in Carnegie Sunday night after an illness of more than two months. He had not been in good health for more than a year. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church by Rev. J.C. Crowson assisted by Rev. W.A.R. Lovell at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, and interment was made in the Carnegie cemetery under the direction of Pitcher & Pitcher.

William B. Boyer was born at Pottstown, Pa. September 9, 1848, died March 21, 1926, aged 76 years, 6 months and 14 days.

He was married to Mrs. Ann E. Martin in Indiana March 13, 1879. To this union seven children were born, all of whom with the widow survive: Wm.E. Boyer, Oklahoma City; Lee Boyer, Jefferson, Okla.; Alice B. Whiteman, Pond Creek, Okla.; Rosie E. Blakeman, Wichita, Kans.; Simon R. Boyer, Cleveland, Ohio, and Roy E. Boyer and Mrs. Anna Hull of this place.

The family moved from Indiana to Grant County, Okla., in 1902 and came to Carnegie in 1907, residing on a farm just north of Carnegie. Mr. and Mrs. Boyer retired from the farm in 1917 and since have lived in town.

Mr. Boyer was not only a pioneer in this country, but he was one of the hard working farmers who helped to develop the "new country." He was converted in early manhood and his activities were principally in church work. He was a member of the Methodist church of this place.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral included all of the children except Simon E. Boyer, John Martin, Markle, Ind.; James Martin, Pence, Ind.; and Mrs. C.E. Davis, Mt. Vernon, S.D., step-children, attended the funeral.

Mrs. Anne Boyer, Pioneer Dies At Daughter's Home

Mrs. Anne E. Boyer, pioneer resident of this section, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.B. Hull, north of Carnegie Sunday, aged 80 years. She had been in failing health since early in the year. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Ernest L. Lloyd pastor officiating. Interment was made in the Carnegie cemetery.

Anne E. Meyers was born near Hagarstown, My., July 15, 1849. In early childhood she moved with her parents to Indiana. She was married to George Martin at Ambia, Ind., in 1865. To this union six children were born, five of whom are living. Mr. Martin died in 1876. She was married to William B. Boyer in 1879.

In 1901 the family moved to Jefferson, Oklahoma, and in 1908 they located on a farm north of Carnegie in 1917. Mr. and Mrs. Boyer retired from the farm and moved to Carnegie. Mr. Boyer died in March, 1926.

Mrs. Boyer united with the Christian church when she was a small girl. In later years, after she became the wife of Wm. B. Boyer she joined the Methodist church with her husband.

She is survived by the following sons and daughters: Mrs. C.E. Davis, Mt. Vernon, South Dakota; J.D. Martin, Pence, Ind.; J.H. Martin, Markle, Ind.; L.S. Martin, Knox, Ind.; Mrs. J.D. Hull, Raymondsville, Tex.; Lee Boyer, Jefferson, Okla.; Mrs. Alice Whitman, Pond Creek, Okla.; Simon R. Boyer, Washington, D.C.; Roy Boyer, Carnegie; Mrs. Anna Hull, Carnegie, Okla.; Mrs. Blakeman, Wichita, Kansas.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral included J.D. Martin, Lee Boyer, Mrs. White, Simon Boyer and Mrs. Blakeman. L.S. Martin visited Mrs. Boyer during her illness, but returned home before her death.
