Boyhood Friend Is Preacher at Rites For B.D. Beverage

Final rites for B.D. Beverage, 77, were in the First Baptist Church in Carnegie Sunday afternoon after his death in Anadarko April 22. He had been seriously ill for several months. He has been a resident of this community about 15 years and formerly operator a filling station three miles east of Carnegie. For the past few years he and Mrs. Beverage have made their home in town.

Elder J.H. O'Neal, Adkins, Ark., boyhood friend of Mr. Beverage, came here to preach the funeral sermon and was assisted in the service by Rev. Clyde N. Price, Carnegie pastor. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery under auspices of the Carnegie Masonic lodge. The Pitchers had charge of arrangements.

Benjamin D. Beverage was born in Van Buren county, Ark., November 22, 1870. He was united in marriage to Emma Rankin March 4, 1888 and to them six children children were born, five of whom survive. Besides his wife survivors include three daughters, Mrs. R.A. Kingsley, Springdale, Ark.; Mrs. S.W. Coleman, Anadarko, and Mrs. Alonzo Stroud, Yakima, Wash., and two sons, Willie Beverage, Springdale, Ark., and Audie Beverage, Hollis. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and many other near relatives.

Among the relatives from a distance here for the service were Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Kingsley.
