Turk Beebe Rites Were at 4 Tuesday Was WW-I Veteran

Services for S.N. "Turk" Beebe, 66, for 49 years a resident of Carnegie, were at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the First Methodist church. He suffered a severe heart attack Sunday morning and died in a Carnegie hospital at 5:30 p.m. He had been forced to retire from active work two years ago because of his health.

Rev. Roy C. Rowlan, pastor, conducted the services and burial was in the Carnegie cemetery under direction of the Pitcher Funeral home. A veteran of World War I, full military honors were accorded at the grave under auspices of the American Legion. Samuel Noel Beebe was born Oct. 1, 1888 at Laddonia, Mo. He came with his family to Oklahoma and arrived in Carnegie February 22, 1906 and this place has since been his home. For many years he was identified with the grocery business and for 10 years was employed in the J. C. Penny Co. store.

He was married to Miss Kate Holland in Chickasha June 21, 1917 and to them one daughter was born.

During World War I he was a member of Bat. A, 107th, Field Artillery, and served in France with that outfit. He was a member of the Carnegie American Legion post.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Kate Beebe, at the home; his daughter, Mrs. Stephenson, Blackwell; a brother, Lee R. Beebe, and a sister, Mrs. Bess Clark, both of Anadarko. Also surviving are a grandson, a nephew and three nieces, as well as other near relatives.

Relatives and others from out of town here for the services included Mrs. J.A. Glover ands Mrs. Crystal Hanna, Butler, Mo.; Mr., and Mrs. Frank Freels, Chickasha; and Mr. and Mrs. E.S. Ross, Wichita Falls, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Ward and Mr. and Mrs. Barney Ward, Ada; Miss Charlene Clark, Fort Smith, Ark.; Mr. and Mrs. John Miller, Wichita Falls; Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Horn, Hydro; Ollie Glover and Chet Glover, Fort Cobb; Miss Ava Sadler, Rev. F.T. Roberts and Rev. Ward Gregg, Anadarko; Mrs. L. C. Gibbons, Verden; and Mr. and Mrs. Preston Willoughby of Norman.
