Funeral Services Held For Former Colony Resident

Funeral services for Fred H. Bauman, 83, a former Colony farmer, were held December 3 at the Colony Presbyterian church. Interment was in the Carnegie cemetery.

Bauman died December 1 at Cordell.

He was born December 1, 1885, at Greenvine, Texas. He had lived in Washita county the greater part of his life, active on the farm and in the community. He established one of the earliest bus stations for a transportation company in western Oklahoma.

He and his wife, Mary, son and daughter moved to Oklahoma City, but in 1938 returned to Colony.

He is survived by the wife, Mary, a former teacher in the Carnegie schools now teaching in Oklahoma City; the son, Charles of Oklahoma City; the daughter, Mrs. Jean Owens of Fort Cobb; a son by a former marriage Albert Bauman; a brother, H.A. Bauman; a sister, Anna Bauman; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Carroll Pigg, Dee Treadaway, John Fetter, Tom Kutch, Zane Payne and Roy Payne.
