Birdie [Warren] Anderson
1889 ~ 1934

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday for Mrs. J.E. Anderson who passed away at an Anadarko hospital Thursday, Oct. 25 after an illness of about three weeks. Rev. R.I. Graham, pastor, conducted the service assisted by Rev. W.A.R. Lovell. The Pitcher Funeral Home had charge of arrangements and interment was made in the Carnegie cemetery. Members of the Carnegie Fire department acted as pall bearers.

Member of the local Rebekah and Royal Neighbor lodges, of which organizations she was an active member, attended the service in a body and the Rebekahs conducted appropriate ceremony at the grave.

Berdie Warren was born at Sherman, Texas February 21, 1889. She was married to Joseph E. Anderson October 6, 1907 and to Carnegie in 1908 where they have since made their home. Mrs. Anderson was converted and joined the Methodist church at Honey Grove and upon moving to Carnegie she placed her membership here.

Besides her husband she is survived by two brothers, Joe Warren of Vernon, Texas and Charles Warren of Cement; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Weeks of this place and Mrs. Mertie Curtis, Corinth, Miss. Her step-mother and a half-brother live at Anadarko and two half-sisters live at Chickasha; and many other relatives live here.

During her long residence here, Mrs. Anderson made many friends in Carnegie and the surrounding communities. Her pastor said, "She was faithful to her home, her church, her friends and her lodge." Friends who attended the last rites overfilled the church and many remained outside during the service.
