Mary Lavada [Johnson] Abbott
1927 ~ 2018


Mary Lavada Abbott was born October 19, 1927, in Mountain View, Oklahoma, to parents Jim and Ona Johnson. She graduated from Fort Cobb High School in 1947. Mrs. Abbott was married to her loving husband, Cloyce Abbott for 50 years. Most of those years were spent in Anadarko, OK.K

Lavada is preceded in death by her husband, Cloyce Abbott, her first born son, Jimmy Alan, her parents, Jim and Ona Johnson, her sister Marja Miller and one great grandson, Seth. Surviving her death are her son, Pat Abbott of Dodge City, Kansas, daughter Debra Abbott Pain and her husband Bill Pain of Breckenridge, Colorado, and daughter Melissa Abbott and Arleen Rasmussen of Ellenton, Florida. Lavada also leaves behind four grandchildren, the wives of her grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.K

Mrs. Abbott was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anadarko. She and her husband owned Anadarko’s last General Motors car dealership, Abbott’s Auto Mall. Lavada loved her family, enjoyed gardening and always looked forward to decorating for the holidays.K

Lavada died peacefully with family by her side the morning of May 26, 2018, in Arizona where she lived near the winter home of her daughter and son-in-law.K

First Baptist Church, Anadarko, OKK
Interment: Carnegie Cemetery, Carnegie, OklahomaK
