Reuben Turner "Rube" Anderson

Reuben Turner Anderson was born January 19, 1880, in Center, Alabama. He was married to Katie Yates in 1898 in Hunt county, Texas. They came to this community from Texas in 1906. Katie Yates Anderson died in 1907.

Rube T Anderson died at 1:00am Saturday August 21, 1950. He had been in poor health five years and bedfast the past eight weeks.

Survivors of this marriage are two daughters, Mrs. Betty Powers and Mrs. Exie Reynolds of Carnegie,

One son, Marcus Anderson, Oklahoma City.

Rube Anderson was married to Mattie McBride July 30, 1912, at Tecumseh, Oklahoma. They made their home in Carnegie until 1935 when they moved to California. They returned to Carnegie in February of 1950.

Rube T Anderson was converted in the Presbyterian church and entered the Methodist church in 1900. He was a member of the First Methodist church of Carnegie, Oklahoma.

Survivors are his wife, Mattie McBride Anderson of the home; Three daughters, Ruby Dyer and Husband and Homer of Carnegie, Oklahoma, Mildred Kelton and husband Leonard of Glendale, California, Imogene Cook and husband Hurley of Jefferson, Oregon; One son, Leon Anderson of Reedley, California; Two step-sons, W.L. McBride of Woodland, Washington and E.A. McBride of Long Beach, California; Six sisters, Mrs. Henry Burge of Batesville, Arkansas, Mrs. J.M. Burge of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Mrs. Roxie Fast of Carnegie, Oklahoma, Mrs. L.H. Pritchard of Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. J.T. Anthony of Anadarko, Oklahoma and Mrs. H.E. Martin of Lawton, Oklahoma; Four brothers, Jeff and Joe of Carnegie, Oklahoma, Bill of Lindsey,California and Ed of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Services for Reuben T Anderson were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Methodist church, with Pastor Brodace Elkins officiating.

Burial at Alfalfa cemetery under the direction of Pitcher's Funeral home.
