John H. Greer
1874 ~ August 18, 1919

John H. Greer, who lives 6 miles southeast of Carnegie, Okla, died last Monday from inflamation of the bowels caused from a kick of a horse.

Mr Greer had been running a mower when the horses became lazy and he had fashioned him an instrument by the use of which he intended to make more speed. He had taken a broom stick and drove a nail in the end. then sharpened it to a point. This he was using to prod the horses. The horses resented the punishment and kicked, striking the stick and causing it to produse a tear in the stomach.

Belonging to a religion that does not believe in medical aid, none was called and inflamation of the bowels set in causing his death.

A coroner;s inquest was held by Justice Bunnell on Momday.
