Former Oak Dale Farmer Dies
Rites Held At Sickles

Funeral services for Joseph Clarence Thurmond were held at 2:30 p.m. February 23 at the Sickles Community church with Rev. Ogland Barger officiating.

Burial was in the Oney cemetery.

Thurmond, 72, died early Friday, February 21, in the Anadarko hospital.

A retired farmer, Thurmond moved in 1922 to the Oak Dale community, where he remained until he retired and moved to Anadarko six years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Lois, of the home; a step-daughter, Mrs. Dora Epton, Oklahoma City; three brothers, Lee of Lookeba, Jess of Gustive, Texas, and Lewis, Oklahoma City; a sister, Mrs. Annie Allen, Gore, Texas, and two grandchildren, Linda Gail Epton and Mrs. Helen Wesnidge, both of Oklahoma City.

Funeral services were held at Albert Wednesday and burial was made in the Oney cemetery. Rev Thomas of Albert had charge of the services.

Raymond was born near Albert December 11, 1915, and died November 27, 1928, aged 12 years, 11 months and 3 days.

The family has the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
