Ouida was born Sunday, July 28, 1940 in McKinney, Texas to Odie and Pirlee (Daniels) Gilmore Bailey and passed from this life on Saturday, August 14, 2021 in Colbert, Oklahoma at the age of 81.

Ouida grew up in McKinney and married Kenneth Alexander in 1957. They lived in Princeton when they first married and later moved to Garland, Texas. They came to Durant in 1976 and then to Kingston where they had built a home. Ouida worked as a homemaker all of her life taking care of their six kids. She was a team mother for the kids as they were playing ball.

Ouida enjoyed crocheting, reading and being with family. Her family can attest that she was the best cook. She was a wonderful mother and loved her many grandkids with a passion.

Ouida was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; sons, David and Kenny Alexander; grandson, Derral Chaney, stepfather, James Bailey and brother- in-law, Charlie O Bier.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Howard and her husband, Jerry of Silo, and Sharon Green of Atoka; sons, Billy Alexander of Ft. Worth, TX, and Tim Alexander and his wife, Stacy of Kingston; brother, Raymond Gilmore and his wife, Edna of McKinney, TX; sisters, Wanda O’Bier of McKinney, and Judy Oliver and her husband, David of East Texas; all her many grandkids and great-grandkids; many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 17, at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Durant with Anthony Chaney officiating. Mrs. Alexander will be laid to rest at Restland Cemetery in Silo with Robby Isaiah Laborico, Charley Ray Pledger, Kyle Lee Odom, Kylin Desean Brown, Billy Oliver and Chris Chaney serving as casket bearers.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
