Doris Louann Templeton, 86, of Achille, Oklahoma, passed away Monday morning, April 27, 2026, at Calera Nursing Home in Calera, Oklahoma.
She was born May 16, 1939, in Achille, Oklahoma, to George and Lottie (Harrington) Bond. Doris graduated from Achille High School in 1957 and married James Templeton on June 29, 1968. She was a lifelong resident of Achille and a devoted member of Community Baptist Church.
Doris spent 40 years making fishing lures, a craft she took great pride in. She loved sewing, cooking for her family, listening to gospel music, and tending her garden. In her earlier years, she also enjoyed canning food for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Templeton; her parents; her in-laws, Tom and Oma Templeton; her sisters, Jolly Marr, Rachell Chilton, and Fran Crook; her brothers, John Bond, Wilburn Mayo, J.B. Mayo, and Mickey Bond; and her grandson-in-law, Daniel Gibby.
Survivors include her daughters, Priscilla Parsons and husband Mike of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Beth McAdams and husband Sammy of Boswell, Oklahoma; and Jami Templeton of Achille, Oklahoma, Kathy and husband Danny McNatt of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren, Michael Parsons and wife Jeana of Achille, Oklahoma, Jennifer Gibby of Achille, Oklahoma, TJ Parsons and wife Samantha of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Andy McAdams and wife Tia of Bokchito, Oklahoma, and Aaron McAdams and wife Katey of Silo, Oklahoma, K.C. and Hannah Barber of Gravett, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Brett, Katie, Luke, and Levi Parsons, Quigley Gibby, Emily and Easton Parsons, JJ, Wyatt, and Owen McAdams, and Spence and Paisley McAdams, Jordan, Bailee, Zane Barber; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Mike Parsons, Michael Parsons, T.J. Parsons, Andy McAdams, Sammy McAdams and Brett Parsons.
Family hour will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2026, at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Oklahoma with Aaron McAdams officiating.
