Ernestine Greenwalt Ervin, 90, of Yuba, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday morning, September 5, 2012 at her home with her loving family at her side. She was the daughter of late Winnett Lee and Veda Mae Finney Greenwalt.

She married Edker Ervin May 23, 1941 in Yuba.

She retired in November of 2008 at the age of 86 from Four Seasons Nursing Home in Durant where she served as Administrative Assistant for 36 years.

At the age of 90 she kept her mind sharp by reading, playing computer games, her Game Boy and challenging others in a checker game which she seldom lost.

Her greatest advice to her daughters was when depressed go shopping.

She was a longtime member of Yuba Baptist Church and lived in the Yuba area all her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two granddaughters, one great grandson, three brothers and one sister.

Surviving are her children, Sherian Keeling and husband Danny of Gainesville, Texas, Glenda Hamby and husband Earnest of Yuba, Oklahoma, Gwendolyn Strickland and husband F.B. of Nichols, South Carolina, Nancy Stricklen and husband Frank of Albany, Oklahoma, Kay Cole and husband Mike of Holcomb, Mississippi, and Eddie Don Ervin and wife Ethel of Caddo, Oklahoma; one sister, Geneva Hix of Yarnaby, Oklahoma, fifteen grandchildren and thirty one great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ernestine Ervin will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, September 8, 2012 in the Kemp Baptist Church in Kemp, Oklahoma with Pastor Roger Speers officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery in Achille. Pallbearers will be John Yeager, Tandy Hix, Jerry Dowd, Marty Hutchins, John Potter and Eddie Ervin. There will not be a family night.
