Patricia Kaye Vest, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 74. She leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, laughter, and a family who will carry her love in their hearts forever.
Patricia was born in Dallas, Texas, on October 7, 1951, to Odell and Milda Taylor. She was one of five children and grew up surrounded by family. Patricia was blessed with a creative and artistic spirit, and she had a special ability to find beauty in the things around her. On August 16, 1971, Patricia married Bill Vest, the love of her life. Together they shared 55 years of marriage, building a life filled with family, love, and countless memories. Their love and commitment to one another were a beautiful example of a lifelong partnership. Patricia devoted much of her life to her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the greatest joys of her life. She loved them fiercely and took great pride in each and every one of them. Her home, her heart, and her arms were always open to the people she loved.
After many years of working at the bank in Celina, Texas, Patricia retired and moved with Bill to Caney, Oklahoma, where they enjoyed their retirement and began a new chapter of their life together. Patricia will be remembered for her loving heart, her creativity, her strength, and the unconditional love she gave to her family. She wasn't simply a mother or grandmother, she was a place of comfort, a source of love, and a part of what made her family feel like home.
Her greatest legacy will not be measured in possessions or accomplishments, but in the people she loved and the family she helped create. Her children will carry her love forward. Her grandchildren will remember her stories and the special moments they shared. And her great-grandchildren will grow up knowing the love of the woman who came before them. Although our hearts are broken by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Patricia's love does not end here. It lives on in every child she held, every grandchild she loved, every great-grandchild she cherished, and every person whose life she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Vest, and her children: Candy and Brian Martin, Nancy and Keith Self, and Billy and Ashley Vest. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jeremy and Whitney Martin, Justin and Marcella Martin, Jaron and Chelsey Martin, Jacob and Jayci Self, Rebekah and Jake Terrell, Kourtney and Kyle Ramuchak, Haylee Vest, Mackenzie Vest and fiance' Dylan Pina, Kambrie Vest, and her many beloved great-grandchildren: Beau, Quinn, Madeline, Makenna, Kaeleigh, Kylee, Liam, Kase, Koda, Brynleigh, Tucker, EmmyLou, Hunter, and Karter. She is survived by her sisters Cindy and David Wurtz and Barbara May, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her dearly.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved son, Danny Ringo, and her grandson, Matthew Self. Though their absence left an everlasting ache in her heart, she carried their memory and love with her always. She is now reunited with them, along with her parents, Odell and Milda Taylor, her sister Shirley Irwin, and her brother Mike Taylor.
She loved deeply. She loved completely. And she was deeply, completely loved.
Until we meet again, Mom, Nana and friend. You'll forever be a part of us.
