Woodrow Alan Stanfield, a respected resident of Durant, Oklahoma, and beloved family member, passed from this life into the arms of his Savior On Sunday, July, 27, 2014 in Denison, TX at the age of 70. He was born in South Bend, IN on December 5, 1943, to Leonard and Margie Florence (Johnson) Stanfield. Woodrow married Rena Sue Black, the love of his life on Saturday, October 19, 1963, in South Bend, IN.

Woodrow had a strong work ethic that carried over into his profession as a painting contractor. He took pride in his work and his strong Christian values carried over into the quality of every job he completed. He had a creative mind and also invented many things over the course of his life. Woodrow enjoyed seeking out hidden treasures and bargains in pawn shops and as a picker.

Woodrow was a faithful servant and member of Victory Life Church in Durant, Oklahoma.

Woodrow is survived by his beloved wife, Sue of the home as well as his sons: Todd Alan Stanfield and wife Gina, Durant, OK; Randy Scott Stanfield and wife Tracy, Denton, TX; Wesley Vaughn Stanfield and wife Stacey, Fairview, TX; daughter: Kimberly Sue Stanfield, Durant, OK; brothers: Leonard Murrill Stanfield, Sherman, TX; Robert Franklin Stanfield and wife Kathy, Port Charlotte, FL; Raymond Neal Stanfield and wife Susanne, Mishawaka, IN; Gary Wendall Stanfield and wife Julie, KY; sister: Peggy Joyce Johnson and husband Tom, Sherman, TX; grandchildren: Kori Brinley and husband Jonathan, Durant, OK; Kasey Gaither, Durant, OK; Heather Johnston and husband Steve, Little Elm, TX; Scott Stanfield and wife Camille, Tyler, TX; Madelyn Stanfield, Austin, TX; Kristopher Cooper and wife Shanda, Boswell, OK; Preston Cooper, South Bend, IN; Nathan Cooper, Durant, OK; Emily and Morgan Stanfield, Fairview, TX; great-grandchildren: Caspian and Bliss Cooper, Boswell, OK; Kyson Brinley, Durant, OK. Woodrow is also survived by his friends at the Sherwin Williams Paint Store in Durant, OK.

Woodrow was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Margie Stanfield; twins, Tina Marie and Terry Lynn Stanfield; grandson Nicholas Allan Cooper; brother, Arvil Wayne Stanfield and sister-in-law, Jean Stanfield.

A gathering of family will be from 7-8:00 PM Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Graveside Service in honor of his memory will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the Rosehill Cemetery in Calera, Oklahoma with Pastor Rick Smith and Pastor Ann Lewis officiating.
