Beverly Ann Smith Wilkins

Beverly Ann (Smith) Wilkins of Colbert, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021 at home after a long illness.

Beverly was born on December 2, 1940 in Durant, Oklahoma to Richard and Lovilla 'Smut' (Myers) Smith. Her family moved to Odessa, Texas in the late 1940's. There she met Don Wilkins and they were married on September 1, 1956. The couple lived in various cities and towns in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico until settling in El Paso, Texas in 1963 for 15 years to raise their two sons. After El Paso, they lived briefly in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Irving, Texas and Omaha, Nebraska before returning to Colbert in 1983, where they made their home the last 37 years.

She was a devoted wife, mother, friend and especially a grandmother. She loved and was loved by her family and friends. As with all of her parent's family, Bev loved to talk. She was often on the phone for hours chatting to friends and loved ones. She was also an animal lover, spending hours caring for her dogs and cats. She liked going to garage sales and was an avid reader. She will be missed.

Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Don Wilkins of Colbert; sons Bill Wilkins of Fremont, Nebraska, Wes Wilkins and wife Rebecca of Austin, Texas; grandsons William Wilkins, Jr and wife Erinn of York, Nebraska, Ryan Wilkins of Wichita Falls, Texas; granddaughter Caitlin Wilkins of Fremont, Nebraska; brother Richard and Sherri Smith of Midland, Texas and sister-in-law Sandra Pingel and husband David of East Layton Utah; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Lovilla Smith of Colbert and her sister, Clydene Sartain of Buchanan Dam, TX.

The family would like to thank Victory Home Health & Hospice for their wonderful care and support over the last year and a half.

Graveside services will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera, Oklahoma on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 11:00 am. The register book may be signed and condolences sent to the family online @ cunninghamfuneralhomesok.com Arrangements are entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Oklahoma.
