Michael Neil Kane

kane-mn

December 15, 1963 ~ October 26, 2021

Michael Neil Kane, a beautiful soul and dedicated servant of his Lord Jesus Christ, left this earthly life on October 26, 2021, at the age of 57. He was born in Sherman, TX on December 15, 1963, to Billy Lovell Kane and Myra Ann (Doughty) Kane. Michael married his beloved Kelly Snider in Durant, OK on June 24, 1995.

Michael grew up in Denison, TX and married Kelly and moved to Durant, OK. They moved to Van Alstyne, TX for a while but recently moved back to Durant to be near family. Michael was a friend to all. He would give you advice, even if you didn’t ask for it. It was always given in love though. He was a giver: time, things, advice, an ear to listen, but most of all he was a giver of God’s love and his salvation that is available to all. Michael stood for what he believed. He loved music and dancing with his favorite partner. He was proud of his kids and the beautiful, kind young adults they have become. Michael never left without a hug or kiss (yes, on the mouth, it’s a Kane thing) and telling you that he loved you. You knew he was sincere; he did love you.

Mr. Kane is survived by his cherished wife, Kelly of the home, children, Kasen Kane and Summer Kane of Durant, OK: mother, Myra Kane of Denison, TX and mother-in-law, June Snider of Durant, OK, siblings: Cheryl Kane of Denison, TX, Cindy Kane of Sherman, TX, Kelley Winborne and husband Chuck of Southmayd, TX, Allen Kane and husband Jay Janota of Austin, TX, Lisa Miller and fiancé Mark Dahl of Denison, TX, David Kane and wife Sheila of Southmayd, TX, sisters-in-law, Lorrie Wright and husband Danny of Durant, OK, and Kristen Jones and husband David of Durant, OK, Special nieces and nephews: Trey Wright, Royal Kane, Kane Winborne, Willie Winborne, Cole Miller, Carson Miller, Ryder Jones, Lawson Kane, Katie Kane Houchin, Jessica Kane, Jodi Jones, Caroline Kane Slawson, Torrie Wright Palmer, Rheagan Jones, and Ryleigh Jones. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Mr. Kane was preceded in death by his dad, Billy Lovell Kane, brothers, Russ Kane and Robert Kane, and father-in-law, Larry Snider.

Family hour will be from 7-8:00 PM on Thursday October 28th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, OK. A celebration of his life will be at 10:00 AM Friday October 29th at the Calvary Baptist Church in Durant with Bro. Darel Bunch and Bro. Charlie Ellison officiating.
