Billy Wayne Corbin

December 12, 1933 - February 23, 2013

Billy Wayne Corbin, of Durant, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2013 in Durant at the age of 79. Billy was born December 12, 1933 in Bryan County, OK to Homer Haywood Corbin and Thelma Sally (Rice) Corbin. Billy graduated from Calera High School and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He proudly served his country in the Air Force where he was honorably discharged. Billy married Carolyn Angelley of Idabel in Hugo, OK in 1962. He worked as a director of NYC Program, SOSU post office manager, and manager of SOSU Airport. Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge, member of Fairview Baptist Church, he taught Sunday School for many years, previously served as a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church and he liked working with his cattle.

He is preceded in death by his parents Homer and Thelma Corbin, one sister Joyce Corbin Padgett, and brother in law Clarence Padgett.

Billy is survived by his wife Carolyn Angelley Corbin of the home, three daughters Marilyn Corbin of Durant, Laura Kay Massey and husband Greg of Durant, and Diana Corbin of Durant, one son Greg Corbin and wife Brooke of Calera, one brother James Thomas Corbin and wife Wanda of McKinney, TX, grandchildren Kiefer Corbin, Tristen Corbin, Blake Massey, Brooke Massey, Corbin Massey, and nieces and nephews Mike and Charlene Ridgway of Durant, Dan and Ann Moore of Durant, George and Sylvia Grant of Idabel, Kelly and Lisa Landon of Tishomingo, OK, Jeff and Jill Padgett of OKC, OK, Jennifer Colbert of OKC, OK and Matt and Karla Sutherland of Edmond, OK.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Fairview Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Ledbetter officiating. Family hour will be held 6-8 PM Monday, February 25, 2012 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel.
