Charlie Cates was born Sunday, December 7, 1952 in Durant, Oklahoma to Charles L. Cates & Frankie (Busby) Cloyd. He passed from this life on Saturday, March 7, 2009 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 56 years.

Charlie was an Area Manager working for Banner Finance and Commerce Finance for 26 years. He loved to fish & hunt. Charlie married Jean Ann Cates in Durant on December 22, 1979.

He was preceded in death by: Parents.

Survivors include: Wife: Jean Ann Cates of Mead, Oklahoma; Step-Father: Bert Cloyd of Silo, Oklahoma; Brother & Sister-in-law: Randy & Cindy Cloyd of Silo, Oklahoma; Sister & Brother-in-law: Kathy & Joe Reid of Silo, Oklahoma; Sister & Brother-in-law: Teresa & Harvey Edwards of Mead, Oklahoma; Brother-in-law: David Jaap, Jr. of Mead, Oklahoma; Sister-in-law: Terri La Foy of Mesa, Arizona as well as extended family and the girls that he worked with everyday.

Services will be Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the Mead Baptist Church. Rev. Kerry Groce will be officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Calera, Oklahoma with Chris Welborn, Kyle Cloyd, Scottie Edwards, Nathan Wolf, Calvin Downey, Larry Partain, Bryan Downs & Ray Anderson serving as pallbearers.

Family Visitation will be Monday, March 9, 2009 from 7-8 PM at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to to the funeral home at dhfh@communicomm.com.
