November 14, 1941 ~ December 8, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jerry Lee Carter, who left us peacefully on December 8, 2025, at the age of 84.

Jerry was born on November 14, 1941, in Calera, Oklahoma, to Pete and Sybil Carter. He attended school in Calera and later graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. A dedicated professional, Jerry spent most of his life working in the insurance industry, ultimately owning and operating his own insurance agency. His work ethic, reliability, and genuine care for others earned him the trust of countless clients and friends.

Beyond his career, Jerry was a man of simple joys and deep passions. He loved fishing, cooking, reading, and spending time on the water, especially in a boat, where he found peace and happiness. His warm spirit, sense of humor, and steady presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda Carter; his children, Terry Carter (Sherral), Dean Carter, Jeff Carter, and Shellie Abel (Dan); his grandchildren, Liz (Brad), Katie, Tim (Melissa), Paige, Blake (Myrissa), Coleson, Gunnar, Garrett, and Travis; and his sister, Judy Nix. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Sybil Carter, and his son, Shane Barrow.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 12, at 10:00 a.m. at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma, followed by a graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera, Oklahoma.

Forever loved, never forgotten..
