Terry Lee Brooks, age 77, peacefully passed away on January 16, 2024. Born on October 8, 1946, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Terry was the cherished child of Melvin and Leuna Brooks. He graduated from Edmond Memorial High School and furthered his education at University of Central Oklahoma.
Terry dedicated an admirable 37 1/2 years of his life in service as a postmaster, a role he fulfilled with pride. On January 31, 2009, he united in marriage with the love of his life, Renea Roberts, who was his treasure. Together, they were active members of St. John's Episcopal Church of Durant. Outside of his professional commitments, Terry found joy in sailing and grilling, creating lasting memories with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Eugene Brooks and Leuna Brooks (Lyons), as well as his brother Randy Brooks.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Renae Roberts, and his children: Chris Brooks of Oklahoma City, Craig Brooks and wife Jenna of Oklahoma City, and Riley Williams and husband Ryan of Calera. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Alex Brooks of Oklahoma City, Rebecca Williams, and Reese Williams of Calera. In addition, he leaves behind sisters Judy Newsome and husband Frank and Cheryl Hand and husband Steve.
Funeral services to celebrate Terry's life will be held on Friday, January 19th, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Brown's Funeral Service in Durant. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera. Reverend James Blagg will officiate the ceremony. Honoring Terry as pallbearers are Fred Booth, John Buchanan, Todd Allison, Joseph Al-Khateib, Teddy Clements, and Lee Woodall. Jason Hightower and Lonnie Aldridge will serve as honorary pallbearers.
