Matthew Todd Davis

Matthew Todd Davis, age 55, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at his home in Pirtle, Oklahoma. Matt was born on December 26, 1969, in Sherman, Texas to parents John and Kathleen (Weger) Davis. Matt graduated from Calera High School and worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a Tamper Operator. He married Jennifer Boyd on June 14, 2002, in Durant and they began their lives together. He enjoyed fishing, team roping, spending time with family and friends, his work family, and he treasured the time he spent following his daughter, Mason, to rodeo events and rating his new BBQ restaurant experiences from 1-10 with Mason after coming home from working on the road.

Matt is preceded in death by his father, John Davis and father-in-law Allen Boyd.

Matt is survived by his wife Jennifer Davis of the home; sons Tyler Davis and wife Karlena of Bokchito, OK and BJ Davis and wife Kayla of Bokchito, OK; daughter Mason Davis of Durant, OK; mother Kathleen Davis of Mead, OK; sister Christi Weger and husband Joey; grandchildren Mitchell Davis, Monte Davis, Everly Davis, and Haddie Davis; nephew John Weger and wife Meagan; nieces Keely Connolly and husband Trevor and MaKensie Boyd; great nephew J.R. Connolly; great niece Creely Connolly and numerous extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday June 30, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Armstrong, OK. Pallbearers will be Jason Boyd, Raymond Faull, Cub Ragsdale, Keith Doughty, Howard Ford, Alan Brown, Bart Russell, and BJ Mullens. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Weger, John Carl Weger, Ronnie Bowman, and Bobby Dobbins. Don Hyde will officiate. The family will receive friends and family on Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hooks and Dunn Widows Children's Fund at any First United Bank location in memory of Matt Davis. Matt created and managed this fundraiser every year to help the families of previously fallen Union Pacific Railroad co-workers.
