Linda Mae (Singleton) Armor
Linda Mae (Singleton) Armor

September 23, 1943 ~ April 19, 2017

Mom was a spiritual woman, firm in her belief in God who loved her family and dedicated her life to taking care of them. She passed her faith to her children and grandchildren along with her love of nature and animals – all animals and sometimes to many strays to count - both people and animals.

Born September 23, 1943 to Sherman "Smokey" Singleton and Mattie Pearl Mahana, Linda Mae Singleton grew up around the Durant area, and attended Durant High School. She married Jerry Lewis Armor on July 9th, 1960 at the Folsom Baptist Church in Durant.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as her sisters Faye Massengale and Ruth Ann Thompson and brother Vyron "Whitey" Wells.

She is survived by her children Teresa Davis (fiance Ron Winters) and Curtis Armor (wife Cynthia Armor) of Durant; five grandchildren: Whitney Floyd Seale, Taylor Floyd Harris, Lauren Armor, Evan Armor and Larissa Armor all of Durant; and four great grandchildren: Justin Wood, Tylee Harris, Piper Tschaekofske , and Tucker Seale all of Durant.

Growing up, Linda loved hunting and fishing with her dad along Blue River. She had a variety of cousins and family that she loved dearly, and frequently told stories about their growing-up years in this area. Mom celebrated life, loved fiercely and would not want us to be sad at her passing. She goes to a better place - a new beginning; with her loved ones who have gone before to be with the Lord. So Rejoice! For He has Risen and through Him we are granted everlasting life.

Family night will be from 6-8:00 PM Friday April 21st at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A chapel service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday April 22nd at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Bro. James Robinson officiating.

The Pallbearers will be Evan Armor, David Sanders, Dan Kennedy, Terry Massengale, Seth Wood, Mike Harmon, Tony Taken and Donny Griffitts. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Armstrong, Oklahoma.

Family and friends may send online condolences and view tributes at www.holmescoffeymurray.com.

Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home, Durant, Oklahoma.
