pitts-l-a

June 15, 1935 - January 26, 2026

Lyndell Arden Pitts, age 90, passed away on January 26, 2026, in Denison, Texas. Born in Boswell, Oklahoma on June 15, 1935, to Leonard and Gracie (Tadlock) Pitts.

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Lyndell is survived by his cherished wife of 67 years, Wanda Pitts; his devoted daughters, Regina Kirkpatrick and her husband Gary, and Laura Parker with her significant other Stanley Raper; as well as his adored grandchildren, Haley and Tyler Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Gracie Pitts, and his brothers, Brooke Pitts and Bobby Pitts.

The United States Army benefited from Lyndell's service when he was stationed in Germany. Following his honorable discharge, Lyndell honed his skills as a carpenter, in both commercial and residential construction with a level of care and precision that became his signature. His artistic talents also led him to a dulcimer shop, where he took great pleasure in crafting custom dulcimers.

He was a man who found contentment in the simple acts of tending to his garden and ensuring the local deer were well-fed.

His final days were spent as a resident of Celebration Senior Living in Denison, Texas, where he enjoyed engaging in spirited card games with friends.

The family of Lyndell Arden Pitts have entrusted the care and services to Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home, 121 North 5th Avenue, Durant, Oklahoma, 74701. Services are scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2026, at Old Bennington Presbyterian Church, 30027 HWY 70, Bennington, Oklahoma, 74723, at 11am with interment to follow.
