Sherry Ann Lane Murphy

Sherry Ann Murphy, of Durant, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in Denison, Texas, at the age of 62. She was born on October 30, 1962 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to George Maynard and Betty Ann Lane.

Sherry worked as a housekeeper for the Choctaw Nation. She was known to always be on the go and never wanting to sit still. She enjoyed running around town, and especially going to Wal-Mart. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her kids and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are husband Ronnie West of Durant, her sons Christopher Murphy of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Charles Murphy and wife Courtney Watkins of Durant, Brandon Lane, also of Durant, daughters Jeannie Lane of Stillwater, Latasha Murphy of Norman, Oklahoma, Gena McGee and husband Dalton Henry of Durant, and Jessica Murphy and Phillip Hewes of Lindsay, Oklahoma, stepsons Ronnie Bledsoe and wife Melissa, and Dustin West and wife Dixie of Durant, and her 25 grandchildren including Braxton Clure, Brylee Henry, Hayden Henry, Isaiah Hewes, Gabriel Hewes, Noah Hewes, and Malakhi Murphy, Adrianna Watkins, Preston Watkins, Justin Bledsoe, Jackie Bledsoe, Colton Bledsoe, Jordan Bledsoe, Dustin Jr West, Abby West, Bailey West, Dangelo Richardson, Dante Murphy, Christopher Murphy, Jr., Elaina Murphy, Brayden Shoupes, Bradley Henderson, Payton Thygesen, and Zoey Thygesen, as well as extended daughter Heaven Henderson. She also leaves behind her mother Betty Knox of Perkins, Oklahoma, and her siblings, including sister Tess Gilbert and husband Bob of Perkins, Oklahoma, and brother Ralph Lane and wife Tina of Portland, Tennessee.

Preceding her in death were her father George Lane, four brothers, her son Richard Murphy, and grandson Elijah Murphy.

Her family hour will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2025, at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Anthony Williams officiating. Sherry will be laid to rest in Mead Cemetery following her funeral service.
