Doris Jean Mitchell

Doris Jean Hill Mitchell of Kenefic, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011 in Plano, Texas at the age of 73 years, 1 month and 14 days.

She was born on Tuesday, March 1, 1938 in Blue Ribbon, Oklahoma to Cecil and Emogene Smith Hill.

Jean was a member of the Kenefic Baptist Church. Ms. Mitchell enjoyed community work and working with the children of the church.

She was a former district manager of E-Z Mart and loved working in her yard.

She is survived by her children, Elaine Ingram and husband Nathan of Mesquite, Texas, Sam Mitchell and wife Bonnie of Denison, Texas and Mary Schoolcraft and husband Brad of Kenefic, Oklahoma; siblings, Mary Vansickle of Calera, Oklahoma, Patricia Hackler of Kenefic, Oklahoma, June Kirkpatrick and husband, Wayne of Owassa, Oklahoma and Cheryl Hall and husband, Ronnie of Kenefic, Oklahoma, brother; Cecil "Speck" Hill of Bennington, Oklahoma, grandchildren; 7, great grandchildren; 5, great great grandchildren; 4

Doris Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Emogene Hill; grandson, Samuel Mitchell; brother, William Hill and sister, Lavena Warner.

Services for Ms. Mitchell will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Kenefic Baptist Church with Rev. Royce Couch officiating.

Burial will follow at the Mead Cemetery, Mead, Oklahoma. Pallbearers are Jerry Kuykendall, Brice Schoolcraft, Christopher Tyler, Brent Kuykendall, Randal Kuykendall and Aaron Kuykendall. Honorary pallbearer is Paul Mitchell.

Family hour will be 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home, Durant, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Kenefic Baptist Church for Vacation Bible School.
