A service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Kemp Church of Christ for Lem "Bud" Walton, 88, Kemp, who died Thursday, November 3, 2005, at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Texas. Bro. Jan Kelly will officiate.

He was born Monday, April 9, 1917, in Kemp to William Dewitt Walton and Minnie Ellen Rhodes.

He married Juanita Garrett December 23, 1934, at Carpenter's Bluff.

He was a lifelong resident of Kemp. He worked most of his life as a farmer and rancher.

He was a longtime member of Kemp Church of Christ. He enjoyed family gatherings, visiting friends and had a passion for playing dominoes.

He was preceded in death by brother, Jack Walton, sisters, Ida Ricks, Nova Tucker, Lois Blankenship, Dolly Higgins and Ruby Moniz and grandson, Ronnie Walton and Juanita's parents.

He is survived by his wife of the home; sons, Willy Ray Walton and wife Thu, Killeen, Texas, and Billy Muriel Walton and wife Kathy, of the home; daughters Betty Buchanan and husband Willie, Oklahoma City, Eyvonne West, Yarnaby, Burma Daley and husband Jim, Kemp, and Nancy Cleveland and husband Charles, Durant; 37 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in Kemp Cemetery with Christopher Walton, Johnny Hobbs, Ronnie Carter, Jim Daley, Phillip Cleveland and Phillip Walton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Hobbs, Eddie Hobbs, Terry Witt, Robert Hobbs, Don Loyd and Brian Murray.

Family hour will be from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.
