Rickey Young, a resident of Davis, OK entered into his eternal rest and joined his Savior in Sulphur, Oklahoma on March 4, 2020 at the age of 68. He was born in Durant, OK on December 31, 1951 to Marlin Young and Dortha Rose Young. Family hour will be before the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church-Student Worship Center, Durant, OK. The service will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Garry McNeill, Bro. James Robinson and Elmer Whitehead officiating. Rickey’s final resting place will be the Highland Cemetery in Durant. His pallbearers will be Truman Smith, Kevin McGhee, Carroll Young, Tony Rose, Mathew Wood, and Andy Hanson.

Rickey graduated from the Durant High School. He went on to earn a Physical Education degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Ricky was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Kingston, OK, and was on the custodial staff for the Fairview Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church. He was proud of his membership in the Bryan County Hall of Fame. Ricky was a diehard OU fan.

Mr. Young is survived by one brother, Clay Young (Debbie) of Monument, CO his niece, Morgan Hymel (Jeremy) of Del City, OK, nephew Joshua Young (Karale) of Kittery, ME, great-niece Kyli Robinson of Del City, OK, great-niece Rosy Young of Kittery, ME, great-niece Piper Young of Kittery, ME, great-nephew Henry Young of Kittery, ME, aunt Doris Young of Madill, OK, aunt Betty Rose of Durant, OK, and numerous family members and a host of friends. Rickey is preceded in death by his parents, Marlin and Dortha Rose Young.

The family asked that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
