June 5, 1946 - May 9, 2026

Howard Russell Tiemann Sr. of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on May 9, 2026, at the age of 79 in his home. Born on June 5, 1946, in Waukegan, Illinois, Howard was the cherished son of the late Edward Tiemann Sr. and Helen (Prince) Tiemann. Howard proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam Era from 1964 to 1967. His service to the nation was a testament to his dedication, a trait he carried the rest of his life.

Following his honorable military service, Howard built a career as a skilled mechanic and electrician. Known for his attention to detail and a knack for problem-solving, Howard was the person everyone turned to when things needed fixing. Arriving in Oklahoma in 1991 from Park City, Illinois, Howard remained an Okie for the rest of his life.

Howard married Christy Karen Allen, and they built a life filled with joy and companionship until Christy's passing in 2002.

In his free time, Howard found immense joy in building and flying R/C airplanes, a hobby that put his technical skill to work for his enjoyment.

A funeral service to honor Howard's life will be held on May 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home, 121 N. 5th Ave, Durant, Oklahoma.
