Dean Youree Sweeney

Dean Sweeney left this life on October 13, 2021, at the age of 83. She was born in Utica, OK on December 9, 1937, to Harry Youree and Myrtle (Beal) Youree. Dean married her sweetheart Leonard Sweeney in Durant, OK on December 6, 1957.

Dean worked at the First National Bank as a teller and manager for 20 years. Dean was feisty as they come and had a loving heart, many of the children she babysat for still come to visit her now that they are grownups. She loved going to garage sales looking for antiques and treasures and sitting on her front porch rain or shine.

Mrs. Sweeney is survived by her sons, Tim Sweeney and wife Sandra of Madill, OK, Tony Sweeney and wife Shelly, and daughter, Cindy White all of Durant, OK, grandchildren, Spencer Sweeney and wife Loryne, Logan Sweeney, Courtney Petty and husband Jesse, Hillary Cross and husband Greg, and Amanda Kahl all of Durant, OK, Kassie Sweeney, Erin Holstein and husband Jon Franklin of Oklahoma City, OK. Great-grandchildren, McKenzee and McKenlee Petty, Remembrance and Royal Sweeney, Conley Sweeney, Burkley and Rafe Cross, Mateo Kahl all of Durant, OK, and John Franklin Jr. and Adelaide Holstein of Oklahoma City, OK.

Mrs. Sweeney was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Myrtle Youree, husband, Leonard Sweeney, and also preceded in death by her siblings.

Family hour will be from 3-4:00 PM on Sunday October 17th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, OK. A chapel service will be at 10:00 AM Monday October 18th at the funeral home. Her final earthly resting place will be the Highland Cemetery in Durant. Her pallbearers will be Jesse Petty, Logan Sweeney, Spencer Sweeney, Greg Cross, Dustin Stepp, and Jeff Gibson.

Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, OK.
