Neff S. Roberts a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on Monday, May 9, 2016 at the age of 88 years 4 months and 5 days. He was born in Durant, Oklahoma to James Clarence and Mary D. (Straton) Roberts on Wednesday, January 4, 1928. Neff married Johnnie B. Murphree in Durant, Oklahoma on August 20, 1961.
Neff served his country proudly first in the United States Marines from 1945-1947 then in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955. He was a Dispatcher and Permit Clerk with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol for many years.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his sister, Mary R. Carey and husband James of Irving, Texas; sisters-in-law, Grace Murphee of Durant, Oklahoma and Jennie Roberts of Hugo, Oklahoma; nephews, Rex Carey of Shreveport, Louisiana, Robert Carey of Cornith, Texas, Larry McGraw of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Lee Stepp of Hugo, Oklahoma; nieces, Cindee Roberts of Hugo, Oklahoma, Debbie Taylor of Irving, Texas, Shirley Slade and family of Durant, Oklahoma, Diana Roberts of Hugo, Oklahoma and Carolyn K. Johnson and husband Roy and family of Durant, Oklahoma.
Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Roberts; wife, Johnnie Roberts; and brother, Don Roberts.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Highland Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. James Robinson officiating.
