Funeral services for Wanda Ellen Linker Brown Park will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Durant. Rev. Greg Tolle will officate and interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.

Wanda was born Monday, November 9, 1925 in Centrahoma, Oklahoma to John Robert and Ada Linker. She passed from this life on Sunday, January 3, 2010 in Plano, Texas at the age of 84.

Wanda married Doyle Brown, Sr. on December 19, 1944 in Pueblo, Colorado. He preceeded her in death in 1978.

Wanda led a full life and was active with her family who always came first.

She joined the Methodist Church in 1934 and served in many capacities including; choir, United Methodist Women, District UMW Committe, Funseekers and Volunteers in Mission trips. She was also a member of the Bryan County Election Board for twelve years, a docent at Ft. Washita and a teacher's assistant at Robert E. Lee Elementary for ten years.

In 1988 Wanda married James D. Park and moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas. Following the death of her husband in 1991, she returned to Durant where she resided at the time of her death.

Wanda is also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ellen Kaye Edmondson; son-in-law, Rickie Edmondson; daughter-in-law, Glenda Brown; brothers, Everett Linker and J.R. Linker and sister, Laree Litaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Katrina Sanford of The Colony, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Mike Burris of Lawton, Oklahoma; son, Doyle Brown, Jr., Durant, Oklahoma; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert & Dee Linker, Lawton, Oklahoma and Boyd & Linda Linker of Jacksonville, Florida. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; Blake Hibdon, Jeff Hibdon, Kyle Edmondson, Kendal Edmondson, Matt Brown, Ryan Brown, Micah Brown, Evan Burris, Whitney Burris, Jed Dolney, Julian Edmondson and Cadence Brown.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the home of Wanda Park from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Condolences can be sent to the family at dhfh@communicomm.com.
