Joe Allen Jackson

Durant, OK- Joe Allen Jackson was born Tuesday, July 7th, 1942 at Goodwater, Oklahoma to the late Joe Henry Jackson and Vera (Evans) Jackson. Joe departed this life and entered into the presence of our Lord on Wednesday, September 14th, 2022 from Denison, Texas at the age of 80.

Joe was raised and graduated from Haworth High School in 1959. After high school, he attended college for a couple years. He married the love of his life, Della Mae Johnson, on December 2nd, 1961 in Idabel, Oklahoma. She precedes him in death on October 4th, 2017. Joe was a longtime employee for J.C. Potter Sausage Company over thirty-four years, retiring in 2005. He was very instrumental with the company serving as the private label sales manager.

Joe was an avid sports fan of the Oklahoma Sooners whether it was watching a football or women's softball game. He also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys even when the team isn't having much success. Joe was a laid back, kind and quiet man who loved his family. He was a loving father and grandfather, and would do anything for his family and friends. Joe and Della were longtime faithful members of the 7th and Beech Church of Christ which is now the Durant Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Della Mae Jackson; and a brother, Troy Jackson.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Carla Daggett and her husband, Chris, of Frazee, Minnesota; son, Jeff Jackson of Durant; grandchildren Cassi Langley (Cody), Cole Jackson, Hudson Jackson, Rylee Kuehn (Joe), Haylee Daggett (Mike Studer), and Dane Daggett; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a loving church family.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Sept. 18th, from 4-6 PM at Brown's Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, Sept. 19th, at the Durant Church of Christ with Ministers Layne Heitz and Logan Cates officiating. Committal services will follow at Highland Cemetery pavilion with Jake Jackson, Don Procell, Chris Daggett, Cody Langley, Luke Langley, and Darren Polson, serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Mac Edge, Ed Walker, Dane Daggett, Joey Jackson, and Johnny Sheppard.
