October 31, 19300 ~ December 18, 2021

Buddie Lou Horn was born in Durant, OK to Elijah Moses “Bud” Wyatt and Rena Gammill Wyatt. Buddie Lou graduated from Durant High School in 1949. She then continued her education on at Southeastern State University graduating with a teaching degree in 1953. Her first teaching job was near Monroe, OK where she met the love of her life James E. Horn. Buddie and James were then married at her Aunt’s house in Van Nuys, CA on June 5, 1954. Buddie and James had a short teaching stint and lived in Buffalo, KS from 1956 to 1958. In 1958, Buddie and James took the brave move to sunny California and settled down in La Puente ,CA. They were both teachers in the Hudson School District which became the Hacienda La Puente USD. Buddie was a home-economics teacher at Newton Jr High, Fairgrove Jr. High, and Grandview Jr. High until her retirement in 1988.

Buddie Lou had a passion for travel and adventure. She shared this love with her family, traveling the world with her kids and grandchildren. She always seemed to hold the lucky bingo card, tracking her bingo winnings annually, and proud of the year ends results. She was an entrepreneur with her late husband James and built an impressive real estate legacy where she spoiled those earnings on her family. The key to Buddie’s heart was simple, quality time and a warm chocolate chip cookie with those who loved her, and as Buddie Lou would say in return,“Love you Back.”

Buddie Lou passed away at her home in Covina, CA in the early hours on December, 18th, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children, (Son) James “Edd” Horn, Jr. and wife Rachelle Horn, (Daughter) Susan L. Horn and husband Carl Rinn, and (Son) Jason A. Horn. Grandchildren: Andrew Miller and wife Elise, Alicia Miller, Jacob Horn, Erik Horn, Tallen Horn, and Lila Horn. Great Grand Children Andy Miller, Bobby Miller, and Oliver Miller.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 15th, 2022 at Highland Cemetery with Pastor Brent Smith officiating. Buddie Lou will be buried at the family grave site next to her husband, James.
