Dorothy Newell Deligans, 96, of Durant, OK, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, at her home with her daughter Sharon and her caregiver Misty by her side. She was born on March 30, 1929, in Hartshorne, OK, to Newell Hall and Daisy Hall (Clemmons). She attended Hartshorne High School and later married the love of her life, Bobby Harold Deligans on September 7, 1946, in Sherman, TX and they were united in marriage for 67 years until Bobby's passing on October 22, 2013. Dorothy and Bobby moved from Hartshorne to Bryan County in1973. She co-owned and operated D & D petroleum and B.H. Deligans Texaco with her beloved husband. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Dorothy enjoyed arts and crafts and 3D dimensional Decoupage. Bobby and Dorothy were members of North West Church of Christ in Durant.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Bobby Harold Deligans; parents Newell Hall and Daisy Hall; brother Jack Hall and sister Pauline Hall Collins.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Sharon Harris and husband Ray of Durant, OK; son Kent Deligans and wife Pat of Denison, TX; granddaughter Heather McClure and husband John of Denison, TX; granddaughter Ashley Schimonitz and husband Dave of Allen, TX; granddaughter Stacey Daugherty of Sherman, TX; grandson Ryan Deligans of Oklahoma City, OK; granddaughter, Kristen Wayman and husband Todd of Mckinney, TX; great grandchildren, Carsyn Deligans, Tank Wayman, Jax Wayman, Ariel McClure, Ivy Sommers, Alani Sommers, Demitri Sommers, Kobe Sommers, Dominic Schimonitz and Godson, William McGee of Bennington, OK.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, OK.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Highland Cemetery in Durant, OK. Jeremy Parham will officiate. The Pallbearers will be Ray Harris, William McGee, John McClure, Kent Deligans, Dave Schimonitz and Ryan Deligans. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
