Tommie (T.L.) Craft

Tommie (T.L.) Craft a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the age of 93 years and 12 days. He was born in Soper, Oklahoma to Albert and Josie (Leeds) Craft on Sunday, October 10, 1920. Tommie married Lois Evelyn Archey in Soper, Oklahoma on Thursday, October 6, 1938.

Tommie was the owner and operator of T.L. Craft Material Incorporated. He was also the former owner of the lumber yard in Soper and worked for the railroad. Tommie was a member of the Silo Baptist Church. He enjoyed treasure hunting, loved to go fishing and playing cards. Tommie's great joy was spending time with his family and getting together on Sundays.

Mr. Craft is survived by daughters, Louise Dionne and husband N.C. of Flint, Texas and Janice Peoples and husband Wendell of Silo, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Tonja Warren and husband Levi of Corpus Christi, Texas, Teresa Phelps and husband Mike of Elkhart, Texas, James Lee Peoples and wife Sandy of Enid, Oklahoma and Angela Hider of Silo, Oklahoma; 5 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Oli Grant of Visalia, California and Janita Nixon of Tucson, Arizona.

Mr. Craft was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Josie Craft; wife, Evelyn; 3 sons; two brothers and two sisters. Family Hour will be from 6-8:00 PM Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.

A Funeral Service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Silo Baptist Church in Silo, Oklahoma with Rev. Scott Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery Durant, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be James Peoples, Trevor Peoples, Spencer Peoples, JD Harlin, Glen Watson, Phillip Marsh, Gary Baker and Troy Lester. Honorary Pallbearers will be JD Harlins Mens Sunday School Class. The family respectfully request that donation be made to the Gideons at www.gideons.org.
