LaRue Jackson Burgess

LaRue Burgess, a resident of North Richland Hills, Texas,  passed from this earth to her eternal home in Heaven on Tuesday, March 12, 2013,  at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 29 days. She was born in Connerville, Oklahoma, on Monday, April 14, 1924,  to William Thomas and Ola (Buchanan) Jackson.

LaRue lived in Oklahoma until 7 years ago. In 2006,  she and her husband Thomas (Tommy) Burgess moved to Ft. Worth, Texas,  to live with their daughter and son-in-law,  Pat and Billy Joe Carriger. LaRue was a woman who gladly dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. She and her husband, Tommy, owned and operated a dairy for many years. LaRue worked at Winn Dixie in the Deli. She was a member of the Assembly of God faith.

Mrs. Burgess is survived by her daughter, Pat Carriger and husband Billy Joe; grandchildren, Robin Carriger and wife, Cindy, Staci Weekly and husband, John; great-grandchildren, Alexis Weekly, Christopher Carriger, Charity Carriger Bankhead and husband Chris all of Ft. Worth, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.

Mrs. Burgess was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ola Jackson; husband, Tommy Burgess; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Ladell Jackson.

Family hour will be from 5-7:00 PM Thursday, March 14, 2013,  at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.  A funeral service in her honor will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 15, 2013,  at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Rev. Charles Dean and Lester Ames officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be John Weekly, Christopher Carriger, Robin Carriger, Chris Bankhead, Joe Bridges, Jeff Patton,and J.C. Ames.  Honorary Pallbearers, Carl Stephens, Rastus Love and Cecil Potter.
