Ralph Edward Buchanan was born on Monday, December 12, 1960 to Eston B. and Dorothy Evelyn Goza Buchanan, Jr. He passed from this life on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the age of 48 years, 10 months, and 26 days. Ralph was born in Durant.

He worked in the family business, Red's Cafe, until it closed.

He was a substitute teacher at Kiamichi Votech. Ralph attended Durant schools, Kiamichi Votech and Murray State College where he was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and National Vocational Technical Honor Society.

Ralph was a Christian.

He enjoyed cooking, watching TV and being with family.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Irene Goza; father, Eston Buchanan, Jr.; brother, Duane Buchanan and niece, Kari Buchanan.

He's survived by his spouse, Loretta Buchanan of Durant, Oklahoma; son, Michael Ralph Buchanan of Durant, Oklahoma; brother, Bobby Buchanan of Caddo, Oklahoma; brother, Donald Buchanan of Durant, Oklahoma; brother, Gary Buchanan Durant, Oklahoma; mother, Dorothy Buchanan of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchild, Emylee Buchanan {Poppy's Precious} of Lufkin, Texas as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
