Nina Brock a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the age of 70 years 6 months and 1 day. She was born in Utica, Oklahoma on Thursday, February 4, 1943 to Vernon O. and Frances (Scott) Brock. Nina was a member of the Baptist faith.

She had a passion for sports and could be found watching; football, basketball, baseball, hockey, golf, she loved them all. Nina had a giving heart and was always willing to help others. She had a great sense of humor and was always able to make others laugh. But most of all Nina was a loving mother, she considered family her greatest blessing. Nina's loved ones would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of Sunshine Hospice for their compassionate, professional service at such a difficult time. They would also like to express their gratitude to the Staff of the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma.

Nina is survived by her daughters, Deborah Williamson and husband Willis of Moore, Oklahoma and Laura Keith of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Falon Mullens of Roberta, Oklahoma and Kimberly Phelps of Roberta, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Harley and Jake Mullens of Roberta, Oklahoma, Presley Nelson of Roberta, Oklahoma and Matthew Phelps of Roberta, Oklahoma; siblings, Stanley Brock of Blue, Oklahoma, Wilma Carlson of Durant, Oklahoma, Peggy Kirk of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Frances Guckian of Corpus Christi, Texas; father of her children, Travis L. Carter of Austin, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Nina was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon O. and Frances Louise Brock; sister, Wilda Sue Brock; brother, W.L. "Nig" Brock; son, Thomas Leslie Carter.

A Service in her honor will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma with Rev. Charles Loyd officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
