Joyce Anne Anglin was born to Delbert Ray and Martha Lou Ellen Holt in 1937 in Roberta, Oklahoma. She was one of seven children.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Harold Anglin, her parents Delbert Ray and Martha Lou Ellen Holt and siblings: Doris Holt, Mary Lee, David Holt, Jackie Elliott, Bill Holt and Wanda Thompson and precious grandson Benjamin Williams.
Joyce grew up in Durant, Oklahoma and went to Durant High School where she met through a blind date set up by her best friend a guy by the name of Harold Anglin and the rest is history. They married on June 3, 1956.
A year later they started their family and Janet Elizabeth was born and 3 years later and Carol Anne completed the family circle.
While living in Durant, Joyce encouraged Harold to go to college and get a degree in Marketing Education as she knew it would be a better future than working in an automobile dealership and knew her husband’s bright potential. He moved up the ladder and moved the family to different locations during the years and she always encouraged him to advance his career and his education even when it meant moving - even moving away from her mother to live in Kansas. She worked hard as a secretary and always advanced in her career as well. Before she retired in Topeka, Kansas she had a supervisory position for the State of Kansas Agriculture Department.
She was a dog lover, avid reader, doll collector, loved classical music and her favorite activities were sewing, shopping, playing all kinds of games, watching Perry Mason mystery series.
She loved her family and loved becoming a Mimi in 1984 when granddaughter Andrea was born followed by: Brandon, Benjamin, Andrew, Lindsay, and Anna.
She was a member of the Westside Church of Christ in Alvin Texas. She loved God and in her final couple of years she would read the Bible to her roommate at night before they would go to sleep.
She is survived by daughters Janet Williams, Carol Stafford (husband Jeff), grandchildren as mentioned above and great grandchildren: Alexis Owens, Logan Owens, Katie Stafford, Graham Williams, Jonas Alba, Brooks Williams, Hannah Stafford, Hayes Williams, Jax Alba, Darlin Carolanne Stafford as well as many very loved nieces and nephew.
God came and took her home Tuesday, September 23. We will all miss her so much but are thankful that she is not suffering in this life but is pain free, with mental clarity again and has joined her loved ones in Paradise.A graveside service will be held in the Highland Cemetery pavilion on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
Services are under the care of Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home, 121 North 5th Avenue, Durant, Oklahoma 74701. www.holmescoffeymurray.com
