Harriet Hale Smith

Harriet (Hale) Smith a resident of Durant, Oklahoma and beloved family member passed from this life into the next on Tuesday, May 19, 2013 at the age of 86 years 8 months and 30 days. She was born in Armstrong, Oklahoma on August 20, 1928 to Obe C. and Maude (Hart) Hale. Harriet Hale married Leroy Smith in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Harriet was of the Baptist faith and watched the 1st Baptist Church in Sherman, Texas telecast on her television whenever she could. She enjoyed many things like; sewing, reading and doing word searches. Harriet loved playing the penny slot machines at the Casino but she loved and cherished her family above all else.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughters, Paula Butler and husband David of Caddo, Oklahoma and Loretta Jean Farmer of Muskogee, Oklahoma; son, Eddie Farmer and wife Susan of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Eric Toman and wife Tammy of Merrill, Wisconsin, Tony Toman and wife Tammy of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, April Usher and husband Jeff of Des Moines, Iowa, Casey Farmer of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Jamey Farmer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Derek Farmer and wife Natalie of Kansas City, Kansas and Brian Vick of Durant, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Cody, Hailey, Alyssa, Devyn, Zach, Ashlyn, Aiden, Gabby, Alley and Brooklyn; great-great grandchild, Brentley.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Smith; parents, Obe and Maude Hale; sisters, Pauline Yoe and Louise Mollenkopf; brother, Joe Hale. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 6-7:00 PM Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel with Bro Mack Chambers officiating, services will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be at the Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo. Serving as pallbearers will be David Butler, Eric Toman, Tony Toman, Jamey Farmer, Derek Farmer and Brian Vick.
