Franklin D. Harper of Caddo, OK passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 in Plano, TX at the age of 80. He was born on June 7, 1937 in Circleback, TX to Leaburn A. Harper and Beulah Perkins Harper. He was a member of the Mt Carmel Baptist Church in Caney, OK.

Frank attended Circleback Grade School and graduated from Sudan High School in West Texas. He married Pauline Kelton on September 9, 1956 in Circleback, TX. They spent 61 wonderful years together. They moved to Bryan County from Mena, AR in 2000. Frank worked as a farmer and mechanic most of his life. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering with tractors. In addition, he designed and created numerous projects for local vacation bible schools and high school FFAs. Frank always had a story or joke to tell to whoever he was talking to. He seldom met a stranger. A prime example of this is the fact that the last several years, he carried 5 in 1 screw drivers and gave them out to all he met.

He is preceded in death by his dad, LA Harper; mother, Beulah Harper; brothers, Gary Harper and Tony Harper.

Survivors include his loving wife Pauline Harper of the home; two daughters, Teri K. Harper- Dufur and husband Alan of Caddo, OK; Pam McCurry and husband Mark of Plano, TX; sister, Barbara Denise O’Brien and husband Tim of Tyler, TX; sister- in- law, Carol Harper of Mena, AR; cherished nephew, Tim Kelton and wife Carrie of Mena, AR; four grandchildren and two great- grandchildren, along with many other extended family members and dear friends.

Services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant with Pastor Bob Kendrick officiating. Private burial will follow in the Caddo Cemetery. Family will accept friends Wednesday evening from 5-7 PM at the Funeral Home.

Online condolences will be made to the family at brownsfuneralservice.com.

Services are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
